From time to time, I am afflicted with strange and surreal thoughts that simply occupy too much space in my mind. So, I have decided to build a little repository for them here.
Read them, don’t read them, share them with your friends, hoard them jealously. I don’t care. The thoughts are for you, free of charge. Do with them what you wish.

The First Thought
When you study for any test, you learn that, if you’re stuck between two answer choices, you should always go with your first thought. The first thought ids the one that hasn’t been influenced by all of the other options. It’s the one that you saw before any doubt creeped in. And then, after reading the other possibilities, you lose confidence in your own thinking. The introduction of other possibilities forces you to second-guess yourself.
Your first thought is almost always the right one, but once you let the doubt of 3 or 4 other possibilities creep into your mind, it becomes almost impossible to believe in the validity of your own reason. And that is only on a test with 4 or 5 answer choices.

A Piece of Quiet
Dear G-d won’t these people ever shut up. Surely, surely they will be quiet soon. But no, they are not.
Dear G-d, won’t these people ever shut up?
Some people really struggle with silence. They can’t sit with it, not even for 10 seconds. Other people can stay quiet for years. They just live in silence, unless anyone else speaks.
I think I envy those people. All my life, I’ve always just wanted a little piece of quiet.
But Dear G-d, will these people ever shut up?
